Booking & Cancellation Policy
At Alberta Barber Academy, we combine clients who book by appointment and those who are walk-ins by utilizing a hybrid line-up system. A complication that arises from this is that we have clients who request specific barbers and those who will take whoever is available. In practice, this also means that true to a barbershop, we don’t do “appointments,” rather, we put our clients on a first-come-first-serve basis for either their preferred barber or the next available one. We’re pretty good at knowing how long it takes to do what we do, so we are usually accurate on offering our clients a predicted time when their barber will be available to serve them. Please bear in mind, however, that real-world challenges to a nice predictable day can occasionally cause time to run ahead or behind.
To keep our booking system operating as smooth as possible, we use a 10-minute policy, meaning that clients will be required to reschedule if they are running more than 10 minutes late. We respect all of our client’s time equally and consider the policy as a way to ensure that all reserved timeslots are kept on track with minimal wait times for everyone.
If you're late
Life happens! We totally understand. Most days our barbers have their days reserved to the clients. If one of those clients are late, it can cause a delay that resets their schedule, so they will run behind time all day. What do we do in these cases? First, we check if the barber has a gap after your appointment, so we can just move your spot next in line. This is what everyone hopes for. Second, we see if our barbers have some flexibility in their schedule to allow some juggling. We can usually tell if clients are requesting for a specific barber or if they are just looking for the next person available. If their next client doesn’t mind who does their service and if another barber is available, we can change the reservation and make room for you. Both of these scenarios are handled by our reception staff, and they will be transparent with you. If the previous two cases are not possible, we will check to see if we can reschedule you for the next available timeslot with your barber or, if you would like, the next available booking for any of our other barbers.

Life is full of unexpected surprises. If your schedule gets changed, please drop us a line that you won’t be coming so we can let someone else take the spot.
